Vests for gentlemen
Vests are garments that can keep you warm during cold autumn days. A complement to your outerwear that can be worn in combinations that are both leisure-sporty, as well as more well-dressed and stylish. A vest can be worn over a blazer in combination with a cable knit sweater. A vest is a good way to prolong the season for thinner jackets and coats, as a nice layer. Vests sewn in a synthetic fabric are a good layer garment as they are compliant and do not get caught in other lining fabrics, while vests made of, for example, flannel fabrics are better as outer layers.
A quilted vest is usually easier to complement a more urban attire with, as it visually connects more to this type of style expression. In general, quilted vests have a slightly narrower, more close-fitting fit, which harmonises better over, for example, blazers or other thin jackets. Vests with down lining more easily complement a sportier outfit as they are often slightly more airy in construction and have a slightly rounder shape and appearance. At the same time, it can be very nice to wear a sporty vest with lightweight down under a formal, high quality coat. That being said, there is space for more than one vest in your wardrobe, depending on how you want to wear them.
