A fleece vest is a very versatile garment in terms of functionality and style. It can be worn in many ways, such as an outer garment, to a comfortable middle layer under all types of jackets, blazers and coats. It is a long time since fleece vests just were a functional garment. A fleece vest can be purchased as a removable lining for a jacket, whose outer layer is more weather resistant. Waxed jackets are a good example of this.
