Three pairs of shoes we're returning to this autumn

Earlier this week, we wrote about Three Autumn Jackets We're Returning to This Autumn – year after year. In the fall, outerwear often takes center stage, but this time we’re turning our attention downwards. For what we wear on our feet not only sets the tone for the rest of our outfit but also needs to withstand a season of rain, moisture, and dropping temperatures. Here are three shoe models we love to revisit when autumn arrives.
The Chelsea Boots – the Versatile Classic
The Chelsea boots are one of those shoe models that seem to make their way back into the wardrobe as soon as the temperature drops. The clean silhouette makes them easy to wear with both tailored trousers and denim. Here, we combine a pair of black Chelsea boots with light trousers and knitwear, a stripped-back combination where the shoes add weight to the overall look.
The derby shoe – where dressy meets casual
The derby shoe is traditionally associated with a more dressed wardrobe, but it thrives just as well in more casual settings. During the autumn, we love to pair it with denim and heavier outerwear, where the polished leather provides a contrast to the more rugged materials.
Sneakers
Sneakers hardly need to be relegated to the back of the wardrobe just because summer is over. During the drier autumn days, we happily continue to wear them, especially paired with knits, wool, and other heavier materials. A simple way to lighten up the autumn layers and give the outfit a more relaxed expression.
