MSR

As the brand name suggests, Mountain Safety Research, or MSR, offers equipment and tools designed for high-level mountaineering and outdoor adventures. The brand was founded in 1969 in Seattle by engineer and mountaineer Larry Penberthy, who sought to improve climbing safety through better and more reliable gear. From this vision grew a pioneering spirit that would go on to change how people around the world experience nature.

To this day, MSR is driven by the same conviction – that reliable, well-engineered equipment is the key to greater adventures. Many of their products are still handmade in Seattle, just one floor below where they are conceptualized. The result is advanced outdoor equipment created to withstand time, weather, and extreme conditions.
