Bronx-born Calvin Klein founded his eponymous fashion house in 1986 in his home state of New York, USA, with financial help from his childhood friend Benny Schwartz. Klein started out designing and selling overcoats and women’s dresses that quickly gained industry recognition.
Through striking ad campaigns, the brand won customers’ recognition and became a household name. Amongst other achievements, these marketing campaigns fundamentally changed how we see men’s underwear. No longer just a practical necessity, men’s underwear was now a desirable fashion product.
