EDWIN

EDWIN was founded out of a deep fascination with denim and has been a driving force within the industry since its inception in 1947, when founder Tsunemi Yonehachi began importing American denim to Japan. In 1961, the first pair of jeans was produced and the brand was established as EDWIN. Over the decades that followed, the brand was behind several groundbreaking innovations, including “old wash” and stone washing—techniques that would go on to transform how denim is produced and experienced worldwide.
From a design perspective, EDWIN is built upon classic American silhouettes rooted in workwear and military aesthetics, interpreted through Japanese precision. Clean lines, considered proportions, and subtle details allow materials, fit, and craftsmanship to take center stage.
