At Care of Carl, we believe that passion, dedication and a commitment to personal service are key to making our customers’ lives that little bit easier and brighter. The Care of Carl story begins in the historic textile city of Borås, Sweden. The company was born of founders Henning Källqvist and Gustaf Rudholm’s dream of creating an online destination offering the highest quality menswear from a wide range of well-renowned brands, something which they felt was sorely lacking at the time. Their idea was simple: to make such premium clothing finally available to every Swedish man, no matter their postcode.
Through their dedication and hard work, Henning and Gustaf launched Careofcarl.com on 23rd August 2010, initially offering a carefully chosen collection of around twenty of the best Swedish and international brands. The first order arrived on that very same day and after just two months, the company was nominated as Sweden’s Online Store of the Year 2010.
In the years since, the range of products and brands offered at Care of Carl has continued to grow, not least through the addition of our “Selected Brands” section with industry leaders such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Drake’s and Herno. Our range has also expanded to include bags, shoes, fragrances and watches, all chosen with the same levels of care as our menswear collections. In 2020, we moved to our new home on the outskirts of the city where we can continue to grow and mature without losing the sense of community and friendship that has characterised our company since the beginning.
We are often asked about the origins of the name “Care of Carl”. Just like the products we offer; the name was chosen with the utmost care. The phrase “Care of” represents our fundamental philosophy of caring for our customers and the products we offer. Personal service continues to be at the heart of our business, and our core values of customer care and dedication are shared by every single member of our team.
But who, then, was Carl? Quite simply, it is a name shared by our two founders: Carl-Henning Källqvist and Karl Gustaf Rudholm.
At Careofcarl.com, our brand mix comprises both classic, well-known marques as well as modern, innovative labels, each one carefully selected to ensure we can continue to offer only the highest quality menswear. From our initial selection of around 20 brands in 2010, we can now proudly offer more than 220 of the world’s foremost names in menswear.Finding the very best menswear for our customers is a full-time job here at Care of Carl, and we are constantly exploring new avenues while keeping one ear firmly to the ground. We regularly travel both within Sweden and in the wider world where we visit trade fairs and meet with suppliers, regularly discovering new sources of inspiration along the way. Through the years, we have had the privilege of visiting experts in sunny, inviting Italy and leafy, rainy England as well as countless inspiring locations here in Scandinavia. Despite their apparent differences, all of our trips are done with the same goal in mind: to offer our customers an unparalleled range of high-quality menswear.

To ensure our customers get the best deal at Careofcarl.com, we have a policy of not reducing the price of the season’s collections before eventual seasonal sales and are generally very restrictive when it comes to special offers and price reductions. We do this to avoid having our customers feel the dissatisfaction or annoyance of seeing their newly purchased items available for a lower price just a few days later. This policy is just one of the ways in which we strive to inspire our customers’ confidence and offer a problem-free shopping experience.
On those occasions we do have seasonal sales, we prioritise our existing customers by giving them early access to our sales, which usually take place at the end of January and June.

Care of Carl AB is owned by Swedish investment group Litorina and founder Henning Källqvist who, with many years of experience in the e-commerce sector, held the position of CEO until summer 2021.
