What is GORE-TEX?
GORE-TEX is a high-tech laminate of the unique GORE-TEX membrane and textiles with exceptional durability, flexibility and performance. This membrane allows perspiration to pass through from the inside, while blocking wind and rain from the outside. There is a wide variety of GORE-TEX fabrics, adapted for different purposes and activities. Some of these extremely durable to mechanic wear and stress, like garments for extreme mountaineering, while garments for long distance runners prioritize low weight, flexibility and comfort. Few brands have a product warranty as extensive as GORE-TEX. Through the brands’ promise “Guaranteed to keep you dry”, GORE-TEX make everything in their power to guarantee the function of your garment, and thus also its longevity. As the first owner of a Gore Tex-gament, your purchase receipt warrants you a very extensive guarantee, assuring satisfying wind- , waterproofing and breathability of your outdoor garment. GORE-TEX technology
GORE-TEX is created to withstand wind and rain. The GORE-TEX membrane is designed to block wind and water from the outside and at the same time let humidity evaporate through from the inside. The membrane has 1,4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. This makes every pore 20 00 times smaller than a drop of water, corresponding to rain from the outside. At the same time, the pores are 700 times larger than water vapor, which makes it possible for perspiration to pass through the membrane. Through this perfect balance, GORE-TEX becomes the perfect barrier between you and the elements of weather.
