The preppy style originates from the North American East Coast and the once so-called "preparatory schools", where well-to-do young people attended before continuing on to the Ivy League Universities. A style that over time has become extremely popular and very versatile. For those who are looking for an everyday style where the garment type and quality set the level, rather than big logos and brands, preppy style will be a good friend. Broadly speaking, basics such as Oxford shirts, chinos, polo shirts, knits, waistcoats, loafers and sneakers, as well as jackets such as duffles and Harrington’s are cornerstones of the preppy wardrobe. Preferably with subtle elements of accent colours such as red, green, pink or yellow. Below we provide two combinations to be inspired by to compose your own preppy combinations.

GANT

For several generations, Gant have made clothes such as Oxford shirts, rugby shirts and a host of other very useful everyday stylish garments with a strong preppy spirit. MORRIS

Sweden’s Morris have since the beginning been inspired by preppy’s timeless aesthetic. Chinos became part of the East Coast preppy through "The G.I. Bill" which in 1944 allowed ex-servicemen to attend the prestigious universities after serving their country. Khaki-coloured uniform trousers began to be worn with items such as blazers, shirts, and boat shoes. In the combination below, earthy tones such as beige, grey, green and brown, worn in several layers, harmonise in an autumn-like ensemble that fits as well on campus as in the office and in free time.
