In a parallel narrative, we also follow Dante, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, in 14th century medieval Florence as he seeks inspiration for his life's work. Here, we venture into a slightly heavier classic in the heat of South America – to the timeless town of Macondo – where seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, forgetfulness, and their inevitable fate. It is a Colombian television series that moves in the borderland between drama and magical realism, based on the book of the same name written by Gabriel García Márquez (1967), a work described by some as Colombia's own national epic.
