Ray-Ban Round Frame Sunglasses
As with many innovations, Ray-Ban’s sunglasses are of military origin. In the 1930s, fighter jets were rapidly becoming faster and capable of much higher altitudes, leaving pilots more exposed to the sun’s glare. The answer to this problem was the brand’s now legendary Aviator model, specifically developed to protect pilots’ eyes from the blinding sun.
A True Classic
The Aviator sunglasses were soon made available to the public and a legend was born. In the years since, Ray-Ban’s countless classic models have been associated with film starts, rock musicians and other cultural icons drawn in by the brand’s heritage and characteristic design language.
