In 2004, creative consultant Flavio Girolami and art director Prathan Poopat decided to join forces in their quest for the perfect sneaker, with the result being the founding of the Common Projects label. Their first model, dubbed Achilles, features a stripped-down, clean design language with the only clue to its origins being the article number, size, and colour printed on the heel.
