The hatmaker was founded in 1857 by brothers Giuseppe and Lazzaro Borsalino in their hometown of Alessandria, Italy. Having studied in Paris to become a master milliner, Giuseppe returned to Italy and used his knowledge and skill to build what would become one of the world’s foremost names in headwear.
